to St Peter's
Bury St Edmunds
Church of England
At St Peter's we seek
to worship the God and Father of our Lord Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit;
to teach the Bible in a way relevant to everyday life;
to grow people in faith, understanding and love;
to equip people to serve others;
to offer people opportunities to meet Jesus and discover forgiveness and new life
Worship
Sundays at 10:45am *
We seek to be an open, welcoming, forgiving, learning, empowering, serving and witnessing community.
If you've not recently been to church, we hope that you will find St Peter's an easy place to try out.
Activities
We seek to reach out to all sections of the community with activities through the week such as
- Little Fishes (for parents and toddlers),
- Youth group
- Lunch and Chat
- Tea and Chat
- small groups for all ages.
Celebrations
Baptism & Thanksgiving for the birth of a child
St Peter's is a great place to celebrate the birth of your child with a thanksgiving service (and 'yes', you can have godparents for a thanksgiving).
For those who wish to consider what Christian commitment means we also offer baptism services.
It also offers a special place to get married, and the gardens at the back are great for photos!
Funerals & Memorial Services
St Peter's has also been the place where we have said goodbye to and grieved for those we love. There is something very special about celebrating a persons' life and entrusting them into the hands of God in a church.
How to Find Us (see map)
We have good parking. Access by car is via Petticoat Lane and Hospital Road.
There is a large car park next to the church.
